Talnet is an experimental cryptocurrency built around proof of work, a UTXO ledger and a wallet that combines classical and post-quantum signatures.
A full node checks the rules itself. Peers help distribute data, but a peer's reported height or model state is not automatically trusted.
PoWTaL selects the chain through validated cumulative work. Transaction signatures establish authorization; ChainGuard provides shared advisory monitoring.
The cap is a protocol limit, not a live circulating-supply reading. Integer-rounded subsidies can leave scheduled issuance slightly below it.
PoWTaL uses a bits-adaptive memory profile: 2048 MiB and 1024 steps at the base, capped at 14746 MiB and 14746 steps. It is designed for memory-intensive mining and ASIC resistance. Full nodes use the low-memory CPU verifier. This design goal is not proof that specialized hardware can never gain an advantage.
Each authenticated input owner supplies ECDSA and SPHINCS+ authorization. Key handling, implementation quality and cryptographic assumptions still matter.
ChainGuard V1 has deterministic rules and an initial state committed by Alpha. Training begins at block 200 and proceeds every 200 accepted blocks. Its predictions do not decide block validity.
These are the configured anchors in the current source, not the live chain tip. Compatible builds must use the matching identity. This bits-adaptive Alpha replaces the earlier fixed-profile test chain; the two identities are incompatible.

Talnet brings together the desktop node and wallet, PoWTaL mining tools and a separate Android light-wallet project. The core source includes an MIT license; distributions can include dependencies with additional license terms.
Contributions that improve testing, documentation and reliability are welcome. Public release availability is separate from what is implemented in the development source.
